Hobe Sound, located at the southern end of Martin County, was originally settled by a group of 25 passengers and crew from the “The Reformation,” a British ship carrying cargo from Jamaica to Philadelphia in the late 1600s. The ship sank off the coast of northern Jupiter Inlet and the survivors received aid from the Jove Indians. 1894 saw Henry Flagler’s railroad pass through Hobe Sound, allowing it to grow and develop.
With a population of around 11,000, Hobe Sound is a scenic waterfront community situated between Jupiter and Stuart. A charming little town, Hobe Sound is home to Jonathan Dickinson State Park, which offers camping, fishing, hiking, kayaking, swimming, equestrian trails, and many types of wildlife.
